An artist from Pittsburgh named Cliff Maynard, that’s also a tattoo artist, is making portraits by using marijuana joint ends. The portraits are of famous people like Bob Marley, Snoop Dog and John Lennon, to mention a few.

These portraits are really cool. I wonder if the artist is stoned while doing this lol

  2. bianco. says:

    can i help?

  3. KrAzYkArL says:

i dont get it. i dont see any roaches anywhere… and i dont understand how these pictures can be made using them… perhaps shed some light on the artist’s procedure? awesome artwork, though =)

  4. Jesse says:

    They’re unrolled and empited roaches.

  5. bill says:

its after you get a roach, split it and smoke the roach weed. hes just using the left over paper.

  6. Gabi says:

I absolutely love these! N I wonder is there somewhere they can be bought?? Have been lookin but cant find,

  7. SW says:

Roaches weren’t used (well, not directly at least), and neither were “used joint filters” (most people don’t even smoke joints with a filter :P ). Used joint papers, unfolded and laid out, were used for these portraits I’d imagine.

  8. Alex says:

mmm the ends of the roaches , the paper was peeled off, and the weed in the paper smoked. duh!
    these are soo cool though.

  9. 0D3RUS says:

    I CAN SMELL IT

  10. Vermarkter says:

I am also not sure about the procedure. Either the picture with the flag in the background was made with another technique oder the image was drastically reduced in size, because of the high-level of details.

  11. sait says:

He needs help! but good work though

  12. Sosa says:

WOW!!!! I’m just in awe of how amazing these portraits are. I’m thoroughly impressed!!

  13. Reiss says:

    These are amazing
But there is one problem, this guy has clearly smoked to many joints for that many roaches! :)
    so sweet though

  14. EMF says:

    Looks like contraband to me…

  15. Gary says:

WOW! A very original and talented artist. By the way, that’s a whole lotta high.

  16. Freddy says:

wow.. my roaches dont look like that for sure.. :)
Amazing work dude.. keep it up! ^^

    - Peace

  17. gforce says:

Um, every joint I roll has a “filter” in it, a small scrap of folded cardboard, usually from the paper pack itself. Not hard at all seeing the scraps of cardboard and rolling paper in these works of art

  18. Very different and interesting effect. I better not try this method for myself.

  19. UNCLE BRO'RAMABAMA says:

    ……………..menthol?!?

  20. UNCLE BRO'RAMABAMA says:

whoa, i could use this artist up here on capital hill.

  21. gamenac says:

Fookin’ sweet! Well, the ‘roaches’ you see being referenced are the ends of joints. The artist has taken the weed out and unrolled the paper. The different hues of yellow brown and white come from the resin thats left from smoking pot through the joint. I bet I know what the artist was doing with the leftovers before making these xD

  22. Mollie says:

Is this guy from Seattle? If so, HOW MUCH IS THE SNOOP DOG PORTRAIT? I must own this.

  23. hi says:

    just incredible

  24. kusal says:

    cool……………………..

  25. Misha says:

thats just awesome! i luv it! smoke on, my friend!

  26. Kim says:

WOW. This is absolutely amazing! the detail, especially all of the shading is remarkable, not to mention the likenesses of the celebrities are perfect. The only thing that’s more amazing than the artwork is the amount of bud he had to smoke to get all of those roaches.

  27. james says:

theyre are some joint papers but not nearly every picture is close to even 70% rolling papers. dont be fooled by these. cool artwork but not what its said to be.

  28. Audrey Dawn says:

*wipes a tear* the one of Seattle, just stole my heart :) Oh oh, someone buy it for me? lol!

  29. Sup Nigga says:

    Hey Its Harry Potter.

  31. Zach says:

  32. philip00x says:

it’s funny that these pictures have comments and the others don’t. cool man cool!

  33. Mish says:

Noone puts a filter in a feckin’ joint (unless they’re mentally impaired)..

  34. fake says:

This isnt made with weed. You guys are morons for believing that. These are made with pencils.

  35. joey gonzales says:

Nice shit. Keep it up. If anything hit me up and we could go through a few blunts if you know what I mean haha.

  36. Dimi says:

he is probably using the finished joint buds to draw with the burnt ends like he would using a pencil.. its black, its coal, it sounds possible.. they are really cool, I linked these on my facebook.
