Sleep Soundly with WWIII Under Your Pillow
I can’t speak for everyone here, but if I could sleep every night atop my 32 rifles or 70 handguns, I’d just worry that the Boogie Man would find a way to arm himself.

this isn’t weird from the perspective of someone who actually owns firearms. first of all, locking one’s firearms up is the socially responsible thing to do. if someone breaks in and steals your firearms, then they’re possibly being used to commit crimes. you’ve lost some or all of your collection, and on top of that it’s being used by criminals. thus, a safe makes sense for anyone who owns firearms. safes are also fireproof in case the structure in which you live burns. firearms are collected by many people and fireproofing is a protection of investment.
the amount of space that a gun safe takes up can be unwieldy, especially if you’re in a small structure and you have a significant other who doesn’t like the idea of a huge safe in a living area. having the bed, which is a bunch of empty space to begin with, be your storage idea is definitely pragmatic.
additionally, having to wake your loved one, move the mattress and unlock the safe is by far the least desired method to ever recover a firearm in the event of a break in. when you wake up you’re groggy and not very coordinated, this would just make things worse than a stand alone safe.
now i’m not saying that a bunch of foxnews-viewing idiots *would n’t* consider this a great way to keep a gun close at hand, but they’re stupid.
