Stop the Grizzly Bear Hunting
While there is no hunting in Katmai National Park, if bears wander outside of the park boundaries they can be shot. Attached to every National Park in Alaska, is a “preserve” where hunting is allowed. This fall, habituated bears in Katmai Preserve were hunted. Journalists captured this slaughter on film, and it caused quite an uproar in Alaska

People who say we shouldn’t hunt grizzlies should go to Alaska and live near the bears. Let’s see how long you last. Or, you can just shut the hell up unless you actually know what you’re talking about.

Was the animal pictured taken legally? From the looks of the pic, the bear was shot once and then the hunter(s) posed with for a few pics.
I don’t see anything resembling inhumane slaughter.
I doubt it caused much of an uproar in Alaska, except among the already avid anti-hunters…all both of them.

I do not see a dman thing wrong with hunting bears or any other animal for that matter. These aniumals will take over if not controlled. This will happen at the risk of thier own species. Also, this bear seems to have been taken in a hunted humane manner. No problems here. For those of you who this troubles….enjoy your capicino…..the bear wont care if you do not like hunting. They will eat your ass too…
you know whats the most ignorant about this is the people commenting saying there is nothing wrong with hunting bears!! are you kidding me?? there is nothing wrong with murdering something just to see if you could??? yeah sure if a bear is attacking your family kill it by all means,but to actually have a set up place, right outside a place they are protected, just to kill them for fun is pretty messed up and yes very disturbing you americans and your shoot to kill anything that moves says nothing about bravery or makes you any sort of a man/woman i want anything to do with. Here in Canada we take pride in our nations animals and only permit to kill when they are out of control which is only ever Deer and you must use all of the deer.
Bears are magnificant and beautiful creatures and i hardly think they are over populated they are actually almost extinct. and noone asked you to move to there habitat and take over killing off their food supply and forcing them to communities. but i guess driving people/creatures out of their own land is an american specialty.

First off, this is a Kodiak Bear and the location of the shoot is not in Katmai. This shot was taken in the Kodiak Islands. And it was a legal hunt. Whoever posted this made up the story. Besides, Alaskan’s would not be appalled by these kinds of events.
HAHA A Canadian complaining about American hunters while they slaughter gross numbers of baby seals simply for their fur. Besides that I am against bear hunting as if we haven’t caused enough damage on their species as well as the rest on this planet but that is nature.

A canadian speaking for all of us…GO TO HELL. You may have your views but don’t try and say “Canadians don’t want hunting”. Only a handful of save everything from death do and you are usually intellectually challenged as is obvious by your lame arguments.

I think the people that whine about this pic should be vegetarians. they maybe think that Windys and Wardys or other fast food places and grocery stores use some special meat that comes from veggies. this is not a big deal. start worrying about people dieing for no reason instead of a few bears.
One thing is to kill to protect family, friends, neighbours… if someone´s in risk. Other thing is to enjoy killing, feel absolute pleasure in take the animal´s life (that could be a female that might left her babies all alone). At least animals kill/attack when they feel threatned or when they´re hungy, humans are the only one species capable to feel pleasure with the animal suffering!…
